Pathway 2: Improving food security

We support farmers, cooperatives, and herders to increase food production and strengthen local food systems using a comprehensive market-based approach. We map and assess value chains, identify challenges and barriers, and support agriculture and livestock producers to improve food production and incomes.  We turn this into action through: Conducting 15-day climate-smart agriculture training programs covering soil, water and seed management with follow-up visits in NWSusing CARE’s Farmer Field and Business School (FFBS) model to deliver essential skills training with GEDI analysis to ensure inclusive participation in NESImplementing Cost-sharing input support to ensure long-term sustainability (where?)Establishing compost units & strengthening local seed systems (where?)
